What list are you on?

Alcohol Volume Advice This Christmas - NRG Gym Health Advice

When it comes to your health and fitness… are you on this year’s Naughty or Nice List? You know, have your vows to get fit been as flat as a cracker that doesn’t bang when you pull it; or have you made the grade?

Maybe you’re feeling a little guilty, and it feels uncomfortable – but that’s a good thing as this feeling is there to spur you on to get going again. (There’s still time to make the Nice list!)

If you can honestly say you’re on the Nice List, well done! Now promise yourself to keep at it, especially with all the food that’s going to be on offer in the forthcoming weeks. And drinking too.

On drinking:

  • Medical experts recommend men and women don’t drink more than 14 units in a week.
  • Fourteen units is six pints of regular-strength beer or 10 small glasses of low-strength wine.
  • One unit is 10ml of alcohol – and that’s the amount of alcohol an adult can process on average in an hour.
  • Spread those units out, across at least three days.

Like most things in life, it’s about avoiding extremes. About being balanced. So why not vow to be good to yourself and get down to one of our gyms.

That way, any overindulgence is nicely balanced out.
