Well Done!

It’s the end of the first month of the New Year 2018 this week. How’s it been for you?

We’d like to give a special message to anyone who took part in Dry January and achieved their goal – well done!

It’s not easy with all the social pressure out there to drink. It seems sometimes that everywhere we look there’s a pub or advert for alcohol. In Britain, it’s entrenched in the culture to “meet for a drink”.

And yet, there are so many positive reasons not to drink booze.

  • Alcohol impairs your ability to fight away a viral infection.
  • Drinking alcohol increases the risk of injuries requiring hospital.
  • Long-term alcohol drinking (especially too heavily too often) increases risk of many health conditions, including: heart disease; stroke; pancreatitis; liver disease; and cancers such as of the bowel, liver and mouth.
  • Even light drinking makes women less likely to conceive. Men who drink too much are likely to end up with lower sperm quantity and quality.
  • Drinking booze is bad for your sleep, your complexion and will likely make you put on weight.

So then, how about a Dry February as well? We’ll drink (fruit juice) to that!
